Visiting Assistant Professor

M.S. Health & Design, School of Architecture and Design New York Institute of Technology

The Master of Science in Architecture, Health and Design focuses on teaching
students a system thinking methodology through design interventions across
different scales. By leveraging the power of computation, data, technology,
design thinking methodologies and circular processes, students learn how to
promote health and well-being in any domain environment. As part of the
program core faculty, my role specifically focuses:

Teaching knowledge across systems and design thinking frameworks, user
research methods, and circular economy processes.
Teaching skills and practices in computational design using Rhino,
Grasshopper and scripting.
Digital fabrication such as 3D printing , CNC workflows.
Physical computing such as assembling circuits using Arduino and
sensors.
Research and making of bio-based and earth materials.

Foundation Studios | Academic Professor

Gerald D. Hines College of Architecture & Design, University of Houston

As an architectural studio professor, I taught students the foundations of design and architectural design through the introduction of core design concepts, basic drawing conventions, and model making. The studios varied from first-year to second-year students and each studio focused on different prompts and project scales such as geometrical Boolean compositions to developing architectural housing projects for refugees.

Computational Designer | Seminar Professor

Gerald D. Hines College of Architecture & Design, University of Houston

In a collegiate effort to grow the digital media curriculum, I devised a scripting seminar course to expose and introduce students to scripting within design. The class focused on teaching C# to highlight to students the benefit and work done through scripting and how they can develop their own algorithms within Grasshopper. Students learnt how to code starting with foundation, core technical skills to developing their own algorithms as a solution to each design problem task.

Protolab | Architectural/ Computational Designer

Houston, TX

My role was multifaceted and entailed tasks such as designing residential and small commercial spaces to carefully crafting design and fabrication management for art and climbing wall projects.

Devised algorithmic centric design processes to develop conceptual ideas into practical, feasible results. Through computational tools such as Grasshopper and scripting results were achieved.
Automated climbing wall project phases to minimize repetitive work load and time.
Coordinated and managed art installations and climbing wall projects from schematic to construction phases.
Coordinated fabrication with fabricators by delivering cutsheets, shop drawings.
Coordinated with climbing wall assembly team through site visits, assembly, and architectural drawings.
Structural drawings coordination with structural engineers to ensure each project met all safety, structural requirements, and its design aesthetic.
Assembly and installation lead on required projects.

Pickard Chilton Architects | Designer

New Haven, CO

At Pickard Chilton, I participated throughout numerous stages of the design process. As a designer I mainly focused on assisting my team to create carefully crafted high rise building designs that met the client’s values and budget. Tasks involved from developing schematic ideas to developing iterative façade details. Additionally, I developed multiple spatial and material schemes of the lobby and offices within a high-rise building. Other tasks also included collaborating in competition stages, assisting in-house model makers, printing 3D building models, and polishing client meeting slides using Adobe Suite software.

Frankel Building Group | Designer

Houston, TX

At Frankel Building Group, high quality homes were the goal of each project. As a residential intern, I collaborated with the designers to develop architectural drawings using Cad and Revit software, and prepare client meeting walkthroughs. Other tasks included use of Adobe suite for marketing purposes.
